Irina holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence for Society from Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and University of Pisa Her doctoral research concerned the implementation of accountability frameworks for the development and deployment of trustworthy and human-centric AI for high-stakes decision making processes under the EU AI Act.
Her expertise and research interests cover aspects of human-computer interaction, the impact of Generative AI on fundamental rights, prompt engineering for LLMs applications, product safety and product liability for AI-embedded products, the regulation of general-purpose AI models and systems, data governance, cybersecurity for AI, and legal design.
Irina is licensed to practice law in Italy and provides legal and strategic advice for innovative startups developing or implementing AI-driven technologies. She also regularly delivers AI literacy courses to professionals and organisations.
