SMAUG
The SMAUG project aims to improve underwater threat detection in ports and access routes through an integrated system linking security infrastructure, advanced detection systems and surveillance vessels, using technologies such as acoustic detection, high-resolution sonar, rapid hull scans and autonomous underwater vehicles. This information, processed by artificial intelligence modules, will enable the identification of hidden threats and illicit goods, integrating data from port sources and autonomous vehicles. The project also aims to improve the interoperability of port information systems and strengthen cooperation between platforms and ships for more effective security.
